Customer Support - RFQ

When submitting a Request for Quote, please inform your Montrose Representative as to the type of CAD data and/or prints that will be supplied and which media will take precedence.

CAD files can be sent to Montrose via email if you compress them, or you can send them on CD-ROM or floppy media. Or you may FTP the files to us through the Web link. Please call you Montrose representative for a FTP login and password.

Prints containing the following information should be supplied at the time of quote:

o CTF Dimensions, Tolerances, and special Notes
o Engraving location and specifications
o Surface Finish/Texture location and specifications
o Cosmetic or "Non-ejection" surfaces
o Minimum & Maximum allowable draft and corner radii
o Current Part Name, Number, and Revision Level

CAD files should be drawn to the "mean" of specified part tolerances. If Tolerances are not supplied, the tool(s) will be built to a standard tooling tolerance of +- .005 (.13mm) from the CAD file.

CAD files should contain complete and clean wire-frame geometry which is free of duplicate entities. All end points should meet within .0001 and data should accurately represent the current revision level.

CAD file should contain complete and clean surface geometry for all non-planar and non-cylindrical part surfaces. Surfaces should be free of inverted normals and all boundaries should meet within .0001. Parametric trimmed (114, 144), Ruled (118), and Nurb (Rational B-spline 128) surfaces are preferred.

Part should be designed with adequate draft angles for mold release and texturing. A five degree minimum is recommended for potential shutoff (slide-by) areas. Part design should be free of thick areas prone to sink as well as details which may be too thin to fill.

Mating Parts should be designed with sufficient clearance and should be reviewed prior to tool design.

Potential cam and lifter areas should be designed with sufficient clearance for travel.

Please direct inquiries about this evaluation to Jeff Carroll 908-754-3030 ext 204.
